South Shore Swimming Club, Est. 1958
Back in the 1950's a group of Staten Island families set out to create a summer retreat on the south shore of Staten Island. They collectively sought a social and recreational destination closer than the Catskills or the Jersey shore. Someplace they could visit on a weekend afternoon or an evening after work. Someplace enjoyed by the kids and their parents alike. A place with enough space for everyone to come together. This family of friends realized their goal when they established the South Shore Swimming Club in 1958.
1958 might sound like a long time ago, but families haven't changed too much over the past 60 years and still flock to the South Shore Swim Club.
The Club hosts The S.S.S.C. Sharks swimming and diving team at our pool. The property has an expansive picnic area for everyone to hang out in. There are basketball, tennis, volleyball and handball courts on the property. The Club hosts various youth activities, ranging from Arts & Crafts to discounted High School test prep. While the pool season is short, The Club hosts events throughout the year. We will see you at the club!
